What is Best Odds Guaranteed?

Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) protects your early horse racing prices. If you back a horse on a UK or Irish race after 08:00 on the day of the race and the Starting Price (SP) ends up higher than the odds you took, William Hill automatically upgrades your returns to the bigger SP. If the SP is shorter, you keep the better early price you locked in.

The promotion is ongoing during the promo period once you opt in and is applied to qualifying bets as standard, subject to eligibility checks and fair-play rules.

How it works (step by step)

1. Opt in to Best Odds Guaranteed

• Log into your William Hill account on the website or mobile app.
• Go to a UK or Irish horse race card from the Horse Racing homepage.
• Click the “Best Odds Guaranteed – Opt In” feature.
• Once opted in, BOG applies to your account indefinitely (unless removed or cancelled by William Hill as per the terms).

2. Place qualifying bets

• Bet on UK & Irish horse races (and, between 8 May – 14 June 2025, on UK Greyhound Derby 2025 races).
• BOG applies to:
  • Win or each-way bets
  • Singles and multiples
  • On the win market only
• Your bet must be placed between 08:00 (UK time) and the start (“the off”) of the race.
• Bets placed before 08:00 on race day are settled at the price taken (or SP if no price was taken) with no BOG adjustment.

3. Let the race run & get best odds

• If your selection wins and the SP is higher than your taken price, your bet is upgraded to the SP.
• If the SP is shorter, you’re paid out at the better early price you took.
• Winnings are credited automatically when the bet settles; BOG uplift is shown in your “Settled bets” section.

Best Odds Guaranteed example

Imagine you back a horse at an early price of 4/1 (£10 stake):

• If the SP returns at 5/1, you are paid at 5/1, not 4/1. Your extra profit from the bigger price is your BOG benefit.
• If the SP returns at 3/1, you are still paid at 4/1, because your early price is better.

Note: If a Winnings Boost is applied, returns will be the greater of: (i) the price taken including the Winnings Boost, or (ii) the unboosted SP (no boost on SP), in line with the T&Cs.

Daily cap & payout details

• There is a daily cap of £/€25,000 per customer on the extra benefit from BOG.
• The cap only applies to the difference between the early price and the higher SP:
  • Your standard winnings at the original price are not capped.
• Extra benefit is calculated by:
  1. Adding all BOG uplifts from higher SPs across your winning qualifying bets in a single calendar day (00:00 – 23:59 UK time).
  2. Stopping additional BOG payments once the total extra benefit reaches £/€25,000.
• If the sum of BOG benefits would exceed the cap, the extra value is capped at £/€25,000, but your base winnings at the original odds are still paid in full.

Qualifying vs non-qualifying bets

Fair play & responsible betting

• William Hill may cancel promotions, void bets or remove winnings if it detects unfair play such as minimal-risk wagering, collusion, abusing loopholes or using multiple accounts / IPs.
• If your account status changes (self-exclusion, safer gambling restrictions, change of residency), your BOG eligibility may be revoked with reasonable notice.
• You can withdraw your real-money balance at any time, subject to legal / regulatory obligations.
• Always treat BOG as extra value, not a reason to overspend. Set limits, track your staking, and use William Hill’s safer gambling tools if needed.
